About the Association
A professional body of managers, engineers and entrepreneurs serving the Tarapur and Boisar industrial area for over twenty-five years.
Tarapur Management Association (TMA) was founded on 14 February 1999 by managers of the industries in the Tarapur MIDC area, one of the largest chemical and pharmaceutical clusters in Maharashtra. Since 2000 it has been a Local Management Association of the All India Management Association.
TMA runs management development programmes, talks, seminars and industrial visits for working professionals; operates TMA Institute of Management Studies (TIMS), which offers MSBTE-affiliated diplomas in industrial safety and environmental engineering; and brings together member organisations from across Boisar and Palghar.
AIMA has recognised TMA as the Best Local Management Association twelve times. The association is an ISO 9001:2015 certified organisation and operates from Management House, Ameya Park, Boisar (W).
TMA’s purpose is to create a platform for the exchange of information and knowledge on the best management practices of a fast-changing global business scenario. Its members are senior and middle managers from the area’s diversified industries, along with local entrepreneurs; its programmes bring prominent voices from the corporate world to Boisar.
- Executive Talent Search (ETS): the flagship inter-industry quiz and innovative-practice contest, held every year since 1999 and judged by a panel from across the region’s industries; a parallel debate format for business-school students.
- Management Convention: a themed convention every four years with speakers from industry, government and AIMA.
- One-day training programmes, awareness programmes on safety and the environment, evening talks, outbound programmes, industrial visits and family get-togethers.
- Management House: about 2,000 sq ft in Boisar with a 75-seat training hall, a conference room, a library of management and safety titles, and a full-time secretariat.
